GM has contracted with a firm, SSDC, to provide enrollees with assistance in enrolling in Medicare Part B. Medicare customer assist phone line that SSDC will have operational for all GM enrollees effective September 4, 2007. The purpose of this phone line is to assist enrollees and their eligible dependents with questions pertaining to Medicare; Part B enrollment, claims payment issues, as well as general Medicare questions. Current retirees, as well as employees contemplating retirement can call SSDC for assistance.
The phone line is an automated system of prompts that directs the caller to a Customer Service Representative, available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Messages can be left outside these hours; an SSDC representative will return the call within twenty-four hours.
