Ron Gettelfinger makes many valid points that I do agree with. It's time for our government to start doing thing that help American Worker. To do everything that can be done to get people to invest in this country by Buying American Made Products

RE: tomorrows auto industry
its time for the government to create a level playing field. back in january 2006, a meeting was held at 599 - according to the journal, over 1000 people showed up. if memory serves me right, Sen. Stabenow said it was time for a trade czar, someone who would oversee trade. that pickups from thailand would enter the US with the same tarriffs as pickups from US would have in thailand.
did it ever happen? is their fair trade or are they still dumping on us? heard the other day that saturn has yet to make a profit - and that the prius is built at a loss. how can we compete with this? |

RE: tomorrows auto industry
Fair Trade or Greed, About the same thing. We don't compete with the Industrialized World. We compete with the third world, The Communists World and Corrupt Governments. We compete with places that have no EPA, No OSHA and no Peoples Rights. Unless that is the kind of country we strive to be it is time for a change in direction.

RE: tomorrows auto industry
asked my local pharmacist some questions recently about using them versus using medco.
she replied - we both get our drugs from the same place - INDIA. we as consumers probably cannot control the manufacturing of drugs cause if we need them - we need them. but we can control the manufacture of other non necessary products. don't like the place of origin? don't buy it - and write the company and say why. nice to see the article on the news last night about buying locally. we should . |

RE: tomorrows auto industry
The Republicans have had people so focused on how bad Unions where and how over paid there workers where, People turned a blind eye to the fact that all the work we where losing was going over seas and they where not going to get the work any way. Now you have the fact that we have no control of product safety, quality or even availability. We but food from places that still use thing like DDT or worse. No one is watching any more because the Republicans sold the idea that deregulations would save us money. Has It? I don't think so. Lazy Voters or Non Voters are to blame for this mess.
